If you need to wait a while until hot water starts flowing out of your shower head or tap, try one of the following solutions:
- Collect the cold water in a bucket and use later for watering your plants, flushing the toilet, washing the floor, hand-washing clothes, or other similar uses
- Wash the dishes in the sink until the hot water arrives, and then go and have your shower
These ideas will save you a few cents off your water bill, but more importantly, will also reduce the stress on our precious drinking-water supplies.
