Did you know that cotton is a very water-intensive and pesticide-intensive crop? Cotton is a great natural material, but maybe we should think twice before using it in disposable form (cotton balls) for removing make-up and cleansing our faces, due to the considerable environmental impact of growing cotton. An eco-friendly alternative is to use the good old face washer. Apply the cleanser to your face with your fingertips, and then wipe off with a damp face washer. Toner can be splashed or sprayed onto your face and wiped off with the face washer in the same way. When you’re done, rinse out the face washer and hang to dry out for its next use. Launder it regularly along with the rest of your towels.
